A Landing Page For Your Lead Generation is something that many internet marketers look into at one time or another, but usually in the beginning phases of their online marketing training. Landing pages, or squeeze pages also frequently called lead capture pages, are fundamental tools for list-building.

At GroupOMM, we’ve coined the phrase for this segment of online marketing and called the landing page a “Lead Generator Magnet” because it offers your visitor something in exchange for his or her contact details. The offer can be a free sample of the product or service you offer, a free consultation, a free report, etc. And obtaining and maintaining a list of qualified buyers and potential buyers is one asset that can set you heads and shoulders above those who do not have lists.

An effective Lead Generator Magnet will get you good conversion rates and targeted leads. It may take some time, testing and tracking to get to the highest converting Lead Generator Magnet for you if you do it on your own, or you can hire someone to do this step for you. According to marketo blog, 9.3% average conversion rate for loosely relevant landing pages and 12% average conversion rate for high relevant, targeted landing pages. Basically, there are three ways that you can go about creating a squeeze page.

* You can design it yourself.

* You can hire a professional to design it for you.

* You can use one of our free templates to create a Lead Generator Magnet.

While these templates are easy to use, and a good place to start, remember that their design quality is nothing special and they tend to be overused, precisely because they are so easy to use for newcomer marketers on the web. If you want to stand out from the crowd, in the long run, this is not the way to go, hire a professional. However, it is a great place to start until you understand how to do your own Lead Generator Magnet or choose to invest into someone doing it for you.

It might surprise you that you can get your page and video for much less than what you would spend doing it yourself. And at GroupOMM you will find that that we create effective Lead Generator Magnet pages that don’t cost an arm and a leg. In the long run, you will probably be happy that you chose this route rather than the trying it out on your own.

However, it’s great to get started. Fill out our contact form and request the free Lead Generator Magnet now! Click here

Everyone is talking about Google’s new “social signals” for ranking. Do you know what that means for your business? Will you rank well in Google without using Facebook and Twitter? Don’t worry – we can easily explain what “ranking signals” will mean for your business using social signals.

Before We Begin: What are Social Signals?

The question begs to be asked: what are social signals?

Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines have begun to adopt a more “sociable” approach to their listings which come under the recommendation of friends, family and networks. Social signals also fall under the overall trust and rank of a website for web users (ie: PageRank).

So does this affect your own success with marketing your products and services online so you get leads? A lot, actually.

I want you to think of your search engine rankings like a tent. Your “tent” is your online authority. Each tent pole is an anchor that helps hold your tent down. Think of the number of searches that are done each day as your tent – which is about to be blown over by the wind.

The image above is a HUGE tent pole, like the big one you’d see at the center of a circus tent. If your web site were a tent, the huge tent pole would probably be your home page and it’s authority. If your homepage has ENOUGH authority (like the big tent pole) it probably won’t get lost in search rankings (it won’t blow away).

Look at the tent in the image above. It has one main huge tent pole in the center, and then about 10 smaller anchoring tent poles around the outside. If that circus tent were your web site, the supporting perimeter poles would include your online social signals – and other things that supported your online authority.

Look at this image – which directly illustrates what “social signals” are like in Google and what they mean to search rankings. Using social media can only help augment your brand online. You may be able to survive with “one tent pole”, but if you firmly want to “anchor” yourself deeply in search results, using social media to help do that will give you more online authority.

You want to “build up” your Twitter and Facebook accounts just like you were raising those supporting tent poles. Grow a following, interact with people, expand your base and online authority.
Direct Evidence that Social Signals Count

So far, this article has been little more than analogy and hype to convince you (yet again) that you should be using social media in your online marketing strategy. We HATE posts of that nature that don’t provide specifics (which are usually not much more than regurgitated info-rhetoric).

Google using social media in search ranking is a fairly new topic to 2011. But the conversation started back in December 2010 when Search Engine Land actually interviewed the Google team responsible for the google search ranking algorithm. Note – NOT the web spam team (headed by Matt Cutts), but the team actually responsible for ranking. They indicated months ago in that interview that social results would be part of the ranking algorithm, but (as always) couldn’t provide specifics, only general concepts.

And this is a synopsis of what they said…

Let’s say somebody is searching for something, and they FOLLOW you in social media. As a result (of them following you) YOUR CONTENT is more likely to come up in THEIR SEARCH RESULTS!

DO YOU GET IT NOW??

When it comes down to it, (now) using social media isn’t about being the cool kid on the block, using the latest buzzwords, or staying trendy and relevant – it means that you’re getting in front of a customer’s face MORE OFTEN.

Don’t try to sell them anything.

As we suggested earlier, one of the problems that many marketers run up
against is the fact that people who use sites like YouTube are not in a
buying mood. They are there to be entertained and the chances of
persuading them to take their wallet out of their pocket are pretty slim
unless you can hit them with a very good offer.

This is not to say that you cannot make money selling products or
services on the back of your video marketing program.

Go with the flow.

The alternative to taking a long-term view is obviously to take a short term
one.

In this case, you find a current market trend or something that is very
popular at the moment, set up a lead generator magnet page
(and/or send traffic straight to the offer page) and get your leads
and customers interested in your “version” of the trend (also known as your
product or service).

How do we go with the flow?

The first site to look at is Google Trends, a site which does exactly as
the name suggests by showing you the latest trending topics that
people are looking for, and the topics that are trending. You are going
to select trends that you can tie into the importance of your product and/or
service.

There are several ideas that might be worth considering on this first
page. By clicking the ‘More Hot Searches’ link at the bottom right (as
highlighted), you get to see a list of all of the hottest search terms of
the moment.

Creating a video or two based on any of these terms would take no
more than an hour or two at the outside. It is therefore very simple but
there are a couple of notes of caution that you should heed.
To begin with, there is little point in trying to promote your offer page
from a video site like YouTube if no one is searching for information of
the kind your videos will provide.

It therefore makes sense to search YouTube for other videos that focus
on the same market to assess whether it is worth doing. Look at the
viewing figures at the bottom right of the video itself for evidence:

I would correspondingly recommend avoiding any topic that looks like it
will only last for a day or two.

Okay, the next place to look for current trends is Twitter because you
can view globally trending topics from your personal home page by
clicking the appropriate link in the right-hand sidebar:

The beauty of using Twitter to see what is trending is that the
information is real-time, live data that demonstrates exactly what
people are talking about when they ‘Tweet’ right now:

Major sports events are always a way of making good money if you can
find suitable offers to match the event. Similarly, popular or upcoming
TV shows and movies also offer many moneymaking opportunities.
There are therefore quite a few good ideas offered up by Twitter.

Finally, as you are going to use videos to market your offer, it makes
sense to see what is ‘hot’ at YouTube at the moment too.
Click the ‘Browse’ link to the right of the main search box on the
YouTube homepage:

Now, click the ‘More’ link over to the right hand side of the page (1) and
begin by looking at the most recent videos (2):

Sometimes, you may spot a new video that is really taking off in terms
of viewing numbers straight out of the box. In this scenario, you may
have spotted a popular new topic before the vast majority of YouTube
users.
Another very valuable option is to look at the ‘Rising Videos’ too. These
are obviously videos that are becoming increasingly popular, providing
evidence that there might be a trend developing.

When you check the ‘Rising Videos’, make sure that you change the
default ‘Today’ setting on the far right to ‘Last Week’. This ensures that
you have slightly more valid results:

The mandatory introduction of the Facebook Timeline heralds some far reaching alterations, not only in the way Facebook pages will look but also the manner in which you interface with Facebook itself.

This brief guide illustrates how some big brands utilize the new Timeline page layout to promote their products and services.

Initially, let’s illustrate the major changes. A typical page which used to look like this:

Will now look like this:

The Major Changes

When you now Create A Page on Facebook, you automatically create a mandatory Timeline page and you have the option of only using this page to promote your brand or business. Regardless if you have an externally stored custom page, this Timeline page becomes your default landing page in response to the User Name you create for your page.

Many people will find it sufficient to use only the Timeline page and it is very easy to set up this page. This manual describes and illustrates how you can best use the Timeline page.

However, you still retain the option of presenting a custom page stored on an external hosting account but this page can only be accessed from Custom Tabs displayed on your Timeline page.

Let me summarize the new structure of your Facebook account.

You acquire a Personal Profile page when your open your Facebook account and you can use the “wall” attached to your profile for personal interaction with friends.
You can Create A Page to promote your brand or business. This process creates a default Timeline page. You assign a User Name to this page which becomes the access URL of your page. For example, people can access this page with a URL in the format http://facebook.com/MyBrand.
On your Timeline page, you can place Custom Tabs which serve as links to any externally stored page or pages. With Timeline, these pages can now be presented as full size web pages with a width of 810 pixels.

The Timeline Page

The Timeline page has an entirely new look and provides a new interface for customizing the way posts, photos, videos and apps are presented. You can use this page alone to promote your brand or business. Let’s look at a few examples that show how people or organizations promote their brand.

In the examples shown, notice the creative use of:

A large cover photo
A profile picture situated in the lower, left corner of the cover photo.
An “About” box in which you can introduce your product or service. It is shown below the profile picture.
Custom tabs that provide access to photos, videos and custom apps that provide interaction and engagement with fans.

Coca Cola

In the section below the cover photo, notice how Coca-Cola provides links to Photos and some 10 custom apps which all promote interaction and engagement. The Custom Tabs that link to these apps and pages all become visible when you click the arrow on the right-hand side of the custom tabs.

Red Bull

The Red Bull page shows a particularly creative use of the Timeline concept. Again, we see several Custom Tabs which links to applications that provide user engagement.

The Timeline itself, extends back several years and you can see the all the posts made in previous years by scrolling down the page. You can also go directly to a particular year by clicking the menu listing on the right-hand side of the page.

Individual Timeline Pages

This page was designed by a graphic artist and is clearly use to promote himself as an individual. Notice the creative use of photos and the Custom Tab which links to the Facebook map application.

Should you wish to see more creative examples, just go to our Fanpage Timeline Creative Service page here.

Social media marketing. Social media support. Social networking.
Social sales and advertising. Social television. Social learning.
What’s next? Well according to industry insiders and major social
media marketing consultants…a new twist on something a bit
older and even familiar. Social Coupons and discounts. With
nearly 2 out of every 3 social media users reporting an interest
in receiving special coupons, discount codes and other promotions
business owners are flocking to daily deal sites like Groupon and
LivingSocial…the top two daily deal sites. It’s big business,
even mega-sites like Amazon have jumped in on the craze by
purchasing Woot, another daily-deal site known less for
destinations and fine dining than products.

A Deal is a Deal

Whatever the deal, consumers can’t seem to get enough. Groupon
boasts well over 85 million users and over 30 million unique
visitors as of July of last year (2011). LivingSocial, the next
largest social coupon site, has nearly 45 million users and 10
million unique visitors in the same month. Of course, there are
literally hundreds or even thousands of other small niche social
coupon sites including many based upon user interest, location or
other specific indications. So, why would a small business
benefit from using a social coupon site? Keep reading to find
out.

A Big Deal

Social coupons represent a major boon for small business owners;
rather than having to print and send out untold coupons that may
or may not reach their final destination, it’s now possible to
attract large numbers of new users by offering new client
discounts or short term promotions. Research has found that
almost 70% of deal buyers return to the business after using the
initial coupons.

Additionally, it’s easier to track new customers thanks to
sophisticated software that provides unique identifiers to each
buyer of a given deal. Reaching an entirely new audience and
enhancing exposure is equally important to small business owners
especially during tough economic times. Roughly 3 out of every 4
coupon buyers are new clients not only providing great revenue
but also word of mouth marketing opportunities for those that
know how to maximize their social media exposure. For instance,
rather than simply offering a social coupon, be sure to link to
your small business social media page, offer a newsletter or
other incentives to create ongoing communication between new
users and their social connections.

Finally, it is expected that small business owners see a quick
jump in the amount of new business but the long term prospects
are equally impressive with 53% of coupon users becoming
regulars…far surpassing that of traditional print coupons.

What’s Hot

So, what’s hot when it comes to social coupons? Well it probably
come as no surprise that more than 1 out of every 4 offers are
for food and drinks. Restaurants were early adopters to the
social coupon phenomena but may not actually be the best fit!
Roughly 1 out of 5 deals are for beauty and spa, 7% for health or
fitness products and the remaining can cover nearly anything
imaginable; from eye surgery and dental work to vacations and
product offerings. The list is endless.

Unmet Demand

From the consumer perspective, nearly three out of four want
gardening and landscaping offers…a seriously unmet need with
dramatic potential interest! One out of three list home repair
and renovation as major areas of interest and just under 30% are
open to food offers. Travel destinations, products and services
are all additional areas of interest. Many users simply enjoy
signing in to see what is interesting in the hope of finding some
new product or service that sounds exciting to try for the first
time.

Good Fit or Fiasco

While social coupons can be a great way to attract new clients,
increase recognition and enhance sales there are some caveats to
keep in mind. It’s a good idea to work closely with your social
media marketing consultant or agency to plan for a social coupon
campaign well in advance; not only to assure maximize exposure
but also to build long term relationships with new clients.

Good fit involves demographics. Other concerns to keep in mind
include whether or not the right audience will be reached; again,
it’s imperative to collaborate closely with the social coupon
site and your regular marketing team.

Fiasco. Earlier we mentioned that restaurants were one of the
first to take advantage of the social coupon
phenomena…sometimes with less than impressive results. Not
because the coupons didn’t work but because they worked too well!
Deep discounts to new users often resulted in more business than
they were able to handle especially during peak periods of time.
The increased traffic and discounted prices often impacted
service in a negative manner actually causing negative word of
mouth advertising in the long run. This same approach applies to
many other small business owners; make sure you are able to
handle a BIG boost in traffic or limit the number of coupons.
It’s important to maintain an acceptable level of service even
during peak periods of time. While placing restrictions on usage
is an option, it may discourage people from visiting or
experiencing the best your business has to offer. This is
especially true of restaurants, night clubs or other places where
peak hours enhance the overall experience. Be sure to take all
aspects of the social coupon into account including the need to
hire additional staff, increase inventory, extend delivery
periods or other commonly encountered issues.

coupon services that are customized for your business needs. These can be
delivered via mobile or other social sites. Contact us today at 877-559-0024

5 Ways to Build Your Facebook Fan Base

You know the importance of being on Facebook, and you’ve already made—or are in the process of considering—the decision to get your business on Facebook. So what comes next?

After your Facebook Company Page is created, you need to think about how you will build a fan base and interact with this base to generate loyalty and sales for your business. Your goal is to have your fans become involved with your updates, spread the word to their friends and family members, and ultimately become advocates of your company on Facebook.

Check out these 5 quick and easy tips to begin attracting fans to your Company Page!

1. Link your website and online listings to your Facebook Page.
If you have an existing website or directory listings, it’s important to include a prominent link to your Facebook Company Page, which adds credibility to your business and lets visitors know that you’re active in the social space. Your website visitors may choose to “like” your Facebook Page so they can get to know you and take advantage of the special offers you post exclusively on your Page. In their Help Center, Facebook provides information on how to add a link to your Page on your website; there are several options available that you can access by contacting Online Media Magic and we will help you with this.

2. Promote your Facebook Page to your customers.
Most small businesses interact with their customers and benefit greatly from word-of-mouth advertising. To make the most of your Facebook Page, you should take a step back and look at the ways you communicate with customers every day. Your receipts, follow-up or reminder phone calls, after-hours voice-mail messages, special offer emails, and print advertising are just a few of the tools you can use to alert your customers that you have a presence on Facebook—make sure that you use them! Customers that have had a positive experience with your business will want to connect with you on a daily basis. Make it easy for them to find you.

3. Claim your Facebook username.
When your Page is initially set up, the Web address where it is located can be 70+ characters long, depending on the length of your business name. That doesn’t look very good on a business card! For this reason, Facebook has made it possible for businesses to claim their personalized Web address so that you can pass along a Web address to your customers that is easier to remember, such as www.facebook.com/yourbusinessname. Keep in mind that Facebook may want you to have a minimum of 25 fans to claim your personalized Web address.

4. Advertise your Page in high-traffic areas at your brick-and-mortar business.
We’ve seen it before. Restaurants have a “Like us on Facebook” sign hanging near their menu or set up on their tables, your local retail store has a framed sign that sits near the cash register, or the local furniture store lets you know they want you to be their fan when you walk in the front door. Take a moment to identify a few spots at your business location where you can place a sign or note—you just may learn something new about your customers in the process.

5. Maximize the impact of your Facebook Company Page.
Your Facebook Page has something in common with your business: they both depend on word-of-mouth marketing. And don’t underestimate the power of telling people you have a Facebook Page. By talking about your Page with current and future customers, you’ll help to generate interest in your business. You can also use your Facebook status updates to ask your current fans to refer your business to their friends and family members. You can even structure a contest around fan referrals to generate interest about your online community!

Whether you’re a savvy social marketer, or you’re just learning how to use this powerful tool to communicate with customers, we’re here to help you every step of the way. Our Facebook team helps you navigate the challenges of staying up-to-date on Facebook trends and the various ways that you can promote your unique business online.
